I'm not going to have any Saturdays free in March after this one so I chose to go to Strength Training class instead of Spanish Web. I'm really starting to love this class. I always feel so pumped during and after. I'm likely going to quit the YMCA after this month. We're definitely going to be trying for baby #2 in April and I honestly don't think I go enough to justify the membership. I try but I've noticed I'm really only going 3-4 times per month. I don't even think I've been to Cycling in over a month. This could very well be my last Strength Training class which makes me sad to think about.

Aerial Photoshoot with Alloy Images
I got over my cold just in time to do a photoshoot with Alloy Images. I've been a fan of their work for years and have always wanted to do an aerial photoshoot with them, however they only come to LA for one aerial shoot a year (usually in March) and last year they were sold out before I could get a spot. When they announced they were having the shoot I went online right away to get a spot and they were already almost all sold out. I got one of the last bookings. I wanted to do hoop, hammock and trapeze. The shoot was pretty exhausting (probably because I've been out sick for two weeks) but I'm happy with how the pictures turned out.

Getting Over Being Sick
My cold of course got worse. I've been sick all week. Thankfully the worst of it only lasted two days. It seemed to clear up quickly but I'm still blowing gunk out of my nose. My congestion is gone, which is great, but my nose still randomly stuffs up. That's the only thing that's still lingering. For the most part I feel fully recovered. But now, as expected, Joe is sick. I can't wait for this cold and flu season to be over.

YMCA Strength Training
I went to Strength Training class today since Joe was home and could watch the baby. I still have a slight sore throat but otherwise feel okay. I read an article that said you actually can work out when you're sick, just be careful not to spread germs and do what's reasonable. I'm not coughing or anything yet, just a sore throat, so I thought it was okay. Plus, if I do get sick I probably will have to miss another week of working out. I made sure to wipe down the mat and all the weights I was using. We're spread out so it's not like I'm breathing on anyone. The Strength Training classes feel pretty good and I think I'm getting the hang of figuring out what weight factor to use.

Sick... AGAIN!
Draven is sick again so I haven't been to class all week. He has a pretty nasty cough this time. It's deep and raspy. Wednesday night he was gasping for air so badly we took him to the ER. They said it all seems like a normal viral infection and gave us a prescription for an inhaler to help him sleep. Poor baby. I'm starting to get the feeling that every time I take him to the daycare center at the YMCA he gets sick. This is like the 5th time he's gotten sick in a three month period. I'm so over this cold and flu season. I'm sure I'm going to catch it next. He leaned in to give me a kiss and coughed right in my face. It was cute but he's definitely spread the germs to me. Hopefully it won't be too bad. So far I only feel a minor sore throat but who knows I could be sick for the next week and a half.

YMCA Strength Training
Today our regular instructor was out sick so we had a sub. The YMCA has two different types of Strength Training classes. The one I usually go to on Saturday is called Strength Train Together and it's all weight training with the bar. This instructor teaches the other one that's just called Strength Training. It's kind of like a combo between Strength Train Together and Core Conditioning. We use the bar but we also use the step, plates and a band. I think I got a good workout in but it didn't seem as intense as the normal class.
I was actually kind of proud of myself because I was using the largest plates almost the entire time but then I realized it's the same weight as the medium plates with the XS plates. There are four different plate sizes. L which is 11 lbs. M which is 8.25 lbs. S which is 5.5 lbs. And XS which is 2.75 lbs. It's hard to figure out different weight factors. You want to add or reduce weight but it can be confusing. M and XS together on the bar equals 11 lbs, the same as the L plates by themselves. I've actually been using M and XS pretty often so I've been lifting 22 lbs this whole time. M and S plates together actually equal out to 13.75 lbs, which is more than the L plates by themselves. And XS and S together actually equal 8.25 lbs, the same as M by itself so might as well just use the M plates. I'm trying to figure out how to adjust my weights properly but it's hard to keep track of what plus what equals what and if it's the same or more than I was doing. I have to keep adding them up in my head during class when I need to increase or decrease weight factor.
